Dr. Olufemi Egbesola is an entrepreneur with a contagious passion for the growth and development of small businesses in Nigeria. He was a lecturer of Entrepreneurial Development Studies with Covenant University and other higher institutions.
He floated and manages his private school known as School of Entrepreneurial Development Studies. He also runs a business consultancy outfit with the name- Visions Connect Ltd. This company had helped thousands to connect their business visions aright. Under his tutelage, hundreds of startups and small-scale companies had been birthed and thriving till date.
Living up with his set mandate to help birth as many entrepreneurs as possible, he anchors an independent weekly program titled START YOUR OWN BUSINESS TODAY on a number of radio stations and its replica – BE YOUR OWN BOSS! on television stations every week, for a period of 15 years. He was the Managing Editor of the weekly newspaper – WEEKLY SMALL BUSINESS NEWS and a monthly newsmagazine named – SMALL BUSINESS NEWSMAGAZINE – a paper that reports the activities of small businesses and is circulated throughout the country. The paper is the heartbeat of small business owners. He is the current national president of the ASSOCIATION OF SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS OF NIGERIA (ASBON) –an association with over fifty thousand members in thirty-two States of the Federation.
He is the Club lead of the popular business club – SMALL BUSINESS CLUB. He started his higher education career from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, where he bags a Higher National. Diploma in Applied Chemistry, got his post graduate diploma (PGD) from Federal University of Technology, Owerri and earns a doctorate degree (PHD) from the prestigious University of Pretoria, South Africa in Applied and Analytical Chemistry. He belongs to many business and professional bodies, associations and institutes. He is the current chairman of Ogun State Organized Private Sector Network (OPS-N), the umbrella body for all the sixty-nine Business Membership Organizations (BMOs) in Ogun State, which includes M.A.N, OGUNCCIMA,
NECA, NASME, NASSI, AFAN, ARTISANS GROUPS, YOUTH GROUPS, WOMEN GROUPS, PEOPLE LIVING WITH DISABILITIES GROUPS, TECH GROUPS etc. He is also the thematic lead, Policy and Regulations of the MSME Community of Practice (MSME CoP), of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), a member of the Federal Government National Council on Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), a contributor to the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), an advisor to Fate Foundation on their annual Policy Dialogue Series (PDS) and serves as chairman on the board of a number of companies.
He is a Enterprise Development Support consultant to World Bank, Africa Development Bank (AfDB), Bank of Industry (BOI), etc. He is a thorough bred entrepreneur who has paid his dues along the line and now mentors thousands of people around the world. He authors quite a number of books; the most recent is entitled: MY BUSINESS COMPASS, a 400 page compendium for all serious minded business owners. He is a recipient of so many international and national awards. Yes, He is a mentor, an author, a serial entrepreneur, a teacher, a motivational speaker, a consultant of repute, a business coach, a leader and of course a servant of the Most High.
